KCB outwit Oilers
KCB outplayed Menengai Oilers for a 30-5 victory in the finals which saw them be crowned as the 2019 Dala 7s winners at Mamboleo Grounds on Sunday 11 August. Both sides were making the second final appearance and Oilers were in the second straight final having played in the Kabeberi 7s final a fortnight ago. Immediately after kick-off, Levy Amunga gave KCB the opening try for a 5-0 lead. Oilers fought back to bag a five-pointer and levelled the scores. KCB went to the break leading thanks to a try by Kenya 7s star Vincent Onyala. They, however, failed to add the extras from close range. In the second stanzas, Kenyan International Davis Chenge landed KCB’s third try while Michael Wanjala crossed over for the fourth try. Kenya 7s duo Jacob Ojee and Andrew Amonde added two more tries for a win for KCB. This is the second main cup win this season having won the Kakamega 7s a few weeks ago. Kenya Harlequins were crowned as Division II winners to earn a place back in the top tier. Aluda Beda, Dominic Osino were some of the scorers as they pummeled Nakuru based side Egerton for a 32-0 win.
